About

Living in Lisbon

Lisbon is a city rich in history and culture encompassing several areas in the region, from the mountains in Sintra to the coastal town of Ericeira. It is considered to be an alpha global city, an important location in the global economy and the launch pad for explorers over the centuries. Situated in the Iberian Peninsula, Lisbon brings together perspectives from Europe, the Americas, Africa and Asia to help enrich both business and cultural life.  Lisbon was also chosen as the European Consumer's Choice Best Destination in 2010!

As a student in The Lisbon MBA International, you will have the unique opportunity to explore Lisbon and all it has to offer. You can learn how to surf at Guincho Beach, travel throughout the hills of the city in a historic yellow tram car, or take a break from the stress of classes with a night out in Bairro Alto. Sports fans won’t find any shortage of events to take in with everything ranging from bullfights to the intense rivalry of Portugal’s three biggest football clubs – Benfica, Sporting, and Porto. And don’t forget to try some of the traditional Portuguese cuisine such as bacalhau, Pastéis de Belém, and the tasty dessert drinks of port wine and ginjinha. Public transportation is available to most locations inside Lisbon’s metropolitan center and the surrounding areas. International students will find their Portuguese classes quite useful when getting to know the people and neighborhoods of Lisbon.
