In order to meet the demand of today’s management challenges, The Lisbon MBA Part Time became, in January 2016, The Lisbon MBA Executive, an Executive MBA with the academic excellence and rigor of Católica|Nova programs. This is part of a natural evolution process that recognizes the changes that have been occurring within this MBA program, with our candidates and within the companies and job market. Apart from these changes, we add the fact that our Part Time program was considered, in 2015, one of the 100 best Executive MBAs in the world by the Financial Times.

The Lisbon MBA is a program that follows the constantly changing and evolving trends of the market. Therefore, our Executive students will be trained in the core competencies of general management in areas such as Strategy, People, Markets & Finance. These competencies will enable them to:

  • Define and implement the competitive advantages of a business or product to achieve an optimal positioning in the market;
  • Motivate, coach, and develop human capital as the main asset of a business;
  • Manage and measure the main business variables to achieve the highest level of efficiency and productivity.

Below, we highlight the main advantages of joining The Lisbon MBA Executive program:

The Lisbon MBA is a joint-venture between the two top business schools in Portugal – Católica-Lisbon and Nova SBE.  After graduating, our students receive an MBA Diploma from both schools and they also have the possibility of obtaining an MSc degree in Business Administration.

Both Nova and Católica hold the Triple Crown Accreditation – AACSB, EQUIS and AMBA.  The three accreditations are awarded as a result of rigorous quality assessment processes and this Triple Crown is your assurance that the school provides programs of top quality and meets the highest international standards.

One of the main objectives of our Career Management Center is to develop corporate contacts to bring companies and C-level professionals to Campus that will broaden the range of opportunities for you to increase your network. Corporate Insight Sessions, Mock interviews, Business Case Competition, Consulting Projects and Talks with CEO’s are some of the initiatives that you can experience as a student, among many others. At the end of the MBA, you’ll have developed a network of professional contacts that will be key for lifelong career management.

The Lisbon MBA is a transformation process. In an ever-changing world, the first challenge of leaders is changing the way they see themselves and how they relate to others, catching the different shades of reality and crafting a mind able to diagnose the changes and rearrange the action. Over this 2-year program, you will embark on a self-development journey and will learn the main competencies top leaders need for mobilizing people to tackle tough challenges and thrive.

The program starts even before you become a student, with a 360º assessment on the 4 fundamental areas of positive leadership. This assessment is going to be the basis for you to create your personalized development plan that you will work on during the MBA.

The 360º Development Program will consist of:

  • A mix of experiential workshops per area of leadership;
  • Individual and group coaching sessions;
  • Integration with the Career Management Center: after you have worked on the 4 areas of leadership, you will have a personalized support from the CMC to help you boost your career development;
  • Workshops on career development pillars and principles.

Every year, students have the opportunity to experience an International Immersion. Over one week, students meet with local companies, government authorities, and academic institutions, experiencing first-hand the culture and businesses practices of another economy. The International Immersion brings the themes discussed in class to life and gives a new perspective on the socio-economic and business conditions of countries around the world.
In the past, The Lisbon MBA students have been in China, India, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, Japan and South Korea.

Both Católica-Lisbon and Nova SBE have also established exchange agreements with a number of the finest business schools in Europe, North and South America. Exchanges between business schools bring students face-to-face with different perspectives, giving you a chance to enrich network and connections across borders. You may attend classes at another school over one term, during which you will gain a unique personal and academic experience, along with exposure to a foreign business culture. Foreign students regularly attend classes at The Lisbon MBA as well.

The Lisbon MBA Executive has also developed its international component, allowing the students to work with the International Full Time class during the elective courses. These shared classes will allow Executive students to network with other high-potential students from international markets.

Moreover, all classes are taught in English in order to better prepare our students for global management positions.

You don’t need to stop working to do an MBA and leverage your career! Our part-time schedule allows you to have classes on Fridays (afternoon & evening) and Saturday mornings. This helps to ensure that you can dedicate enough time to the MBA, to your career and to your family.

The Lisbon MBA joint-venture started in 2007, but Nova SBE and Católica-Lisbon have offered MBA’s since 1980 and 1991, respectively. Over 3,000 alumni are a part of this global network.
The Alumni Club offers opportunities for current students and alumni to connect with one another through social events, professional development workshops, and mentoring programs.
