Winners of the Tourism Innovation Competition

Of the 59 applications for the global contest of ideas “Tourism Innovation Competition” – organized by The Lisbon MBA with the support of Turismo de Portugal – only three reached the final. The winning project was made in Portugal, drawn up by João Ladeira, a computer engineer, and Sílvia Pimenta, a medical student. The basis of the application is a tool that would allow us, through a sentiment analysis algorithm, to create patterns through the data of platforms like Booking, TripAdvisor and Twitter. The solution enables the measurement of tourists’ behaviors and activities, so that data such as the nationality of the tourists or consumer trends can leverage the existing tourism offer.

The winners will be able to choose between a prize of 10,000 euros and a scholarship for The Lisbon MBA worth 18,000 euros. The other two finalists received 2,000 euros each. Congratulations to all!
