David Patient is the new Academic Director of The Lisbon MBA

David Patient is the new Academic Director of The Lisbon MBA on behalf of CATÓLICA-LISBON (the Academic director on behalf of Nova SBE, Paulo Pinho,  will remain).

David has been associated with The Lisbon MBA since its inception, being the initial co-director of the Friday Forum and having taught at the program for many years.

David Patient is an Associate Professor at Católica Lisbon School of Business & Economics, has a law degree from University College London and an MBA and PhD from the Sauder School of Business at the University of British Columbia. David’s research, which focuses on effective managerial communication and employee motivation, has been published in books and top academic journals, including Journal of Management, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, Strategic Management Journal, Organization Studies, and Journal of Organisational Behaviour.

Prior to joining CATOLICA-LISBON in 2006, David was a Lecturer in Business Communication at Simon Fraser University, Vancouver, and has also worked as an independent provider of corporate writing and editing services to a variety of organizations, and as a marketing representative for IBM Canada. In April 2016, David has been elected to the Board of Governors of the Academy of Management.
